Summary
Participates of a three-day triennial San Diego Preparedness for Response Program Exercise gather to check the status of an oil spill. The exercise is being conducted to improve the effectiveness of the San Diego Area Contingency Plan. The completion of the PREP exercise satisfies all Oil Pollution Act of 1990 mandates and enhances interagency cooperation and provides a unified directed response to major oil spills. The exercise involves dozens of federal, state and local agencies including the Coast Guard, Navy, Marine Corp, Air Force, State of California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Chevron.
