Raton, New Mexico--The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s (USAMU)Action Shooting Team completed a fantastic weekend at the 2018 Rocky Mountain 3-Gun Match (RM3G)in Raton, New Mexico with some outstanding results led by Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Horner capturing the Limited Scope Class, Staff Sgt. Tyler Payne winning the He-man Scope Class and PV2 Nate Staskiewicz claiming the Limited Iron Class. Sgt. 1st Class Joel Turner took silver in the Open Class against some of the best 3-Gun marksman in the world, including Tim Yackley and Jerry Miculek. The team also won the Team Stage shoot-off, which includes each team member shooting in a relay-style match tagging in after six shots. The RM3G is one of the most physically demanding Multi-Gun matches in the world with all stages set in the natural and mountainous terrain of northern New Mexico requiring the competitors to traverse steep, rocky lanes and acquire targets through the trees, bushes and other natural features of this area.
