Repatriation, US Army Photo - ATLANTIC

description

Summary

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (April 27, 2004)-- More than 650 Haitians, including many women and children, line up at Killick Haitian coast guard base in here to be repatriated April 27, after fleeing the country days earlier. Three heavily overloaded boats with few or no lifejackets carried 686 migrants when the U.S. Coast Guard found and rescued them.

U.S. Coast Guard forces have been patrolling these waters since early March. They are here supporting Multinational Interim Force-Haiti to assist in stabilizing and securing the country.
