Replicas of Japanese Kate torpedo planes, made from American AT-6 Texan aircraft, and replicas of Japanese Val Type 99 bomber aircraft fly during a re-enactment of World War II battles. The event is being staged by the Confederate Air Force, a private historical organization that restores and preserves World War II-era aircraft. The re-enactment is part of the Air Force Association's Gathering of Eagles '86, an international aerospace event celebrating the anniversaries of the Strategic Air Command, Tactical Air Command and the independent Air Force Association
