description

Summary

Runners attempt to run away from “zombies” during a zombie run hosted by the American Red Cross Society as a fun way to raise awareness for National Preparedness Month (NPM) at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Oct. 28, 2017. If the runners lost their flags to a “zombie,” they were asked disaster related questions and the flags were returned back to them if answered correctly. Launched in 2004, NPM is the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s national annual preparedness outreach, and it aims to educate and empower Americans to prepare and respond to emergencies, which include natural disasters and potential terrorist attacks.
