Saharan dust hovered over the Atlantic for several days in mid-January 2008. After the dust storm had continued for a few days, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer modis.gsfc.nasa.gov/ (MODIS) flying on NASA's aqua.nasa.gov/ Aqua satellite captured this image of dust plumes blowing off Africa's west coast, on January 22, 2008.
