SAN FRANCISCO -- This chart hanging at Motor Lifeboat Station Golden Gate depicts the Stations area of responsibility and rescue operations in fiscal year 2008. The different colored dots represent different kinds of rescue operations. Crewmembers from the station respond to approximately 600 search and rescue cases per year.
