Smith, a native of Chester, West Virginia, graduated from Oak Glen High School in May, 2014, and enlisted from RSS Stevenville later that year. Smith wanted to join the Marines to be a part of a something that many people aren’t apart of. While enlisted he has learned how to be patient and to stay calm in stressful situations.
