Summary

Smoke billows high in the sky from a smoke screen provided by M-777 155mm howitzer fire during a Fire Support Coordination Exercise aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Nov. 20. Marines from Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducted the FSCEX in order to give the Marines the training they need to effectively call in artillery, naval gunfire, mortars or air support. The 22nd MEU is scheduled for a deployment next spring.
