TACP Airmen Compete in Best Ranger Competition 2019
Summary
U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Sean Deam, Charlie flight chief, and Staff Sgt. Marcos Silverio participate with equipment checks in preparation for the Best Ranger Competition, April 8, 2019, at Fort Benning, Georgia. Both Airmen are Tactical Air Control Party from the 10th Air Support Operations Squadron, Fort Riley, Kansas. The Best Ranger competition celebrates it's 36th anniversary in 2019, and measures competitors from all military services with a grueling three-day test of expeditionary skills. Competitors are tested on their ability to move 70 miles, fire at eight ranges, and complete various other Ranger tactical tasks. The Best Ranger Competition was started in 1982 after Dick Leandri found a way to honor his personal friend, Lieutenant General David E. Grange, Jr. (U.S. Air Force photo by Sarayuth Pinthong)
