The Donji Bratinia Bridge, just north of the city of Gorazde, is re-opened after having been shut down after its' destruction by North Atlantic Treaty Organization air strikes. The new bridge is a British Mabey Johnson bridge assembled by a Battallion of German Engineers belonging and supporting the Implementation Force (IFOR) in Bosnia as part of Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR. Beginning in December, 1995, US and allied nations deployed peacekeeping forces to Bosnia in support of JOINT ENDEAVOR. The provision of a secure environment is at the heart of the reconstruction effort in Bosnia
