Three planetary views from the Hubble Space Telecope
Summary
Three new plantetary views from the Hubble Space Telescope. Color Negative S98-20014 shows composite images of planetary nebula NGC 6210 taken on August 6, 1997 with the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2). There are two images: first, the entire nebula and second, an inset image detailing the center structure surrounding the dying star. Color Negative S98-20015 provides a view of Uranus surrounded by its four major rings and ten of its seventeen known satellites. It is a false-colored image generated by Erich Karkoschka of the University of Arizona using data taken on August 8, 1998 with the Hubble Space Telescope's Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer. Color Negative S98-20016 is two views of Neptune from the Hubble Space Telescope showing the planet's dynamic weather features. Each view shows the opposite hemispheres of Neptune taken by Lawrence A. Sromovsky of the University of Wisconsin-Madison on August 11, 1998 and August 13, 1996 respectively. Alternate photograph numbers are STScI-PRC98-36 (S98-20014), STScI-PRC98-35 (S98-20015) and STScI-PRC98-34 (S98-20016). Further information on these images can be found in the Hubble Space Telescope News dated October 14, 1998 and October 22, 1998.
