(TRINCOMALEE, Sri Lanka) U.S. Navy Diver 2nd Class Steve Wilhelm, assigned to Mobile Diving Salvage Unit (MDSU) 1, and Sri Lanka Navy divers, conduct salvage diving operations during the first-ever Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) at the Naval Base in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, Oct. 4, 2017. CARAT 2017 is a series of annual maritime exercises between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of partner nations to include Bangladesh, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand and Timor-Leste.
