Summary
This untitled illustration by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Post on August 11, 1899, shows William Goebel's inability to maintain Democratic support, in spite of strong supporter's William Jennings Bryan and Henry Watterson, due to his use of what many saw as unsavory tactics used to steal the nomination during the Democratic convention.
