A B-1B bomber from the 9th Bomb Squadron, 7th Wing, Dyess AFB, Texas, is refueled over the Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska by a KC-135 from the 168th Air Refueling Group, Eielson AFB, Ark. Three B-1Bs took off on the second of June from Dyess and flew non-stop around the world except for one which made a bombing run in Europe and recovered in Lajes, Portugal. The B-1s were demonstrating Global Reach capabilities and were also attempting to set a world speed record for their weight class
