U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Boone Woerheide of

description

Summary

U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Daniel Boone Woerheide of Chesapeake, Va., listens to his grandfather, Retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Dale Wolfe, of Petersburg, Va., speak about the family history of Daniel Boone and the Pennsylvania generals who fought in the Revolutionary war. Woerheide is currently serving in Kabul, Afghanistan as part of the U.S. Army V Corps, at IJC Headquarters, Kabul International Airport. As part of the same phone call, Woerheide read the promotion orders for his mother, U.S. Army Maj. Glenda Wolfe, of Fort Bliss, Texas as she was promoted to Lt. Col. Once promoted, Wolfe re-enlisted her son over the phone. The original program was intended to be done live by VTC, but due to technical difficulties, the fallback plan allowed them to do the ceremonies by phone.
