Summary
U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Jorge Sanchez, a native of Edcouch, Texas, and 2009 graduate of Edcouch-Elsa High School, received a Certificate of Commendation Oct. 1, 2014. Sanchez currently serves as a 4th Marine Corps District supply noncommissioned officer at the Defense Distribution Center Susquehanna in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. As supply NCO, he is responsible for purchasing and maintaining purchase records in support of recruiting for 4th MCD. Sanchez enlisted in the Marine Corps Jan. 3, 2012. He has been stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan and New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, and deployed to Gwangyang, Korea, and Tinian. His awards include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
