Summary
150508-N-SR567-062 PORTSMOUTH, Va. (May 8, 2015) - Capt. Stephen T. Koehler, commanding officer of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike), and Senior Chief Navy Counselor Lamondt B. Sanders paint the ship's starboard anchor with gold paint to indicate that the command has earned the Navy Retention Award. Although Ike earned her gold anchors in February, command leadership painted the anchors only recently to highlight the continued outstanding retention throughout the command over the course of a nearly two-year docking planned incremental availability (DPIA) at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
