151216-N-CJ186-128NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BAHRAIN (Dec. 16, 2015) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) 2nd Class Matthew Krom, assigned to Commander, Task Group (CTG) 56.1's Expeditionary Mine Countermeasures EOD Platoon, tests the mouthpiece of an MK 16 Module 1 underwater breathing apparatus. The MK 16 is capable of extending the EOD diver's duration underwater by recycling the user's air. CTG 56.1 conducts mine countermeasures, explosive ordnance disposal, salvage-diving, and force protection operations throughout the 5th Fleet area of operations.
