160811-N-TR165-014 KUANTAN, Malaysia (Aug. 11, 2016) Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Brennan Gonzalez, a preventive medicine technician, attached to USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), from Merced, California, explains the Biogents Sentinel Mosquito trap to Malaysian health professionals at the forward deployable preventive medicine team camp at Kuantan Naval Base. During the event, the team discussed their mosquito traps, water testing, air quality and radiation detection capabilities. The event was part of a Pacific Partnership 2016 medical disaster subject matter expert exchange. This is the first time Mercy and Pacific Partnership have visited Malaysia. During the mission stop partner nations are working side-by-side with local military and civilian organizations in a search and rescue exercise, civil engineering projects, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges.
