CARTAGENA, Colombia (Sept. 15, 2016) U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Michael Bigelow, a preventive medicine technician assigned to Naval Environmental Preventative Medicine Unit 2, moves timber to a construction site during Southern Partnership Station 2016 (SPS 16). SPS 16’s medical engagement team joined the construction engagement team to help construct a sanitation station for rural Colombian residents in Cartagena, Colombia. SPS-16 is an annual deployment of U.S. ships to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean and Latin America. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
