Kelly House, from Bakersville, California, and assigned to the Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), golfs on the Aeropines Golf Course at Naval Air Station Oceana during the 6th annual Capt. Tushar Tembe CVN Invitational. USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) hosted the golf tournament, held annually in honor of Capt. Tushar Tembe, a former commanding officer of USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), who died unexpectedly in 2011. George Washington is undergoing a refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a nearly four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repair, upgrades and modernization.
