171018-N-XN177-056 YOKOSUKA, Japan (October 18, 2017) – The Royal Canadian Victoria-class long-range hunter-killer submarine HMCS Chicoutimi (SSK 879) passes the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) icebreaker Shirase (AGB 5003) and the JMSDF Izumo (DDH 183) as she prepares to pull in to Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka for a port visit. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
