Summary
A crowd of more than 150 gathered this morning at Clark Veterans Cemetery, Angeles City, Philippines, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of ANZAC Day, April 25. Veterans and serving members from Australia, New Zealand, the United States and the Philippines, joined together to remember Gallipoli and to recognize the sacrifices of those serving today. Numbers were bolstered by service men and women from Exercise Balikatan 15 based at Clark, including Royal Australian Air Force, Australian Army, U.S. Marine Corps and Philippine Army. The event was organized by the Angeles City Sub Branch of the Returned & Services League. "The legacy of ANZAC lies at the spiritual heart of Australia," Lt. Col. Gary Barnes (Ret.) said. "The legacy is for all of us; an eternal possession we should value and cherish forever." (Courtesy photo by Squadron Leader Malcom Grieve)
