A freight train approached the ongoing construction site of the new Fairfield/Vacaville, Calif., train station. Trains now pass under a new overpass erected on Peabody road. The Peabody road reopening ceremony signifies the completion of a $78 million dollar project; the road was closed for fourteen months and finished ten days ahead of schedule. Peabody road is a major thoroughfare that connects the cities of Vacaville and Fairfield, over 20,000 vehicles per day use the road and it is also a major artery into Travis Air Force Base for the over 14,000 employees.
