A Marine searches a role-player acting as an evacuee at a simulated Evacuation Control Center during a certification exercise for Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response Africa, Logistics Combat Element, at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Feb. 23, 2018. The CERTEX was designed to test Marines and Sailors on real-world scenarios to ensure they were capable of performing tasks effectively. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is a rotational force that provides U.S. Africa Command the capabilities needed to quickly respond to crises including humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, U.S. Embassy support and other operations.
