A Republic of Korea (KOR) Westland Super Navy Lynx Mk 99 helicopter, lands aboard the US Navy (USN) NIMITZ CLASS: Aircraft Carrier, USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74), marking the first time in history that a Korean aircraft, of any kind, has landed aboard the Stennis. The ship and its embarked Carrier Air Wing Fourteen (CVW-14) are taking part in the multi-national maritime exercise RIMPAC 2004. RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise conducted in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands, and is designed to enhance the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array of combined operations at sea, while enhancing stability in the Pacific Rim region
