Summary
A resident of Tamaoyan, left, Australian Army Capt. Kendall Crocker, center, and U.S. Marine Gunnery Sgt. Byron Jacobson talk before a dinner April 30 during Exercise Balikatan in Legazpi City, Albay Province, Philippines. The dinner was one of several community relations events held during Balikatan to bring together members of the community, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Australian, and U.S. armed forces to allow all three to share their culture and get to know each other on a personal level. This year marks the 30th iteration of the exercise, which is an annual bilateral Philippines-U.S. military training exercise and humanitarian civic assistance engagement that increases interoperability and strengthens the bond between the longstanding allies. Crocker is assigned to the Explosive Detection Dog School Sydney, Australia. Jacobson is a civil affairs team chief with the civil affairs detachment, G3, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
