A traditional Mongolian archer shoots at a target during the Nadaam Festival as part of Khaan Quest 2018 at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia, June 27. KQ18 is a regularly scheduled, multinational exercise co-sponsored by U.S. Pacific Command and hosted annually by the Mongolian Armed Forces. This exercise is the latest in a continuing series of exercises designed to promote regional peace and security. This year's exercise marks the 16th anniversary of this training event. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
