A U.S. Army service member with the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command carries a Christmas tree to their car during the tree lighting ceremony, Scott Air Force Base, Ill., Dec. 7, 2017.The annual event at the Scott Event Center included arts crafts activities for the children, “Santa's reindeer,” lighting of the tree, music, and the opportunity to take pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, played by Chris Gooding of the 375th Force Support Squadron and his wife. Additionally, over 40 volunteers helped Trees for Troops give away 300 free trees to families for the holidays.
