A U.S. Marine with force reconnaissance platoon, 22nd
Summary
A U.S. Marine with force reconnaissance platoon, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), lands after parachuting from an MV-22 Osprey aircraft during a long-range tactical insertion at Melrose Air Force Range, N.M., Sept. 30, 2013. The flight was the longest an Osprey has flown without landing to insert troops into an area. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
