A U.S. Marine with Security Cooperation Task Force Africa Partnership Station (SCTF APS) 2012 navigates an obstacle on the confidence course with a French marine with the 3rd Marine Brigade at Fort de Penthièvre in Brittany, France, July 24, 2012. SCTF APS 2012 conducted a series of training events with the French marines to strengthen relations between France and the United States. APS is an international security cooperation initiative facilitated by Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and collaborative activities in order to improve maritime safety and security in Africa.
