Afghan Border Police Sgt. Esrafel Khaksar is assisted by an expert explosives trainer with the International Security Assistance Force during the final hands-on evaluation of the explosive hazard removal course at Forward Operating Base Thunder May 5, 2012. The joint training was held to familiarize Afghan National Security Force members who are not explosives experts in the proper removal techniques of unexploded ordinance and homemade explosives commonly found in IEDs, the preferred weapon of anti-government insurgent forces.
