Afghan journalists from the Laghman Province take notes during a press conference by the Laghman Province Director of Forestry, Haji Auhe, Feb. 23 during the Afghan Journalism Seminar at the Information Culture and Youth center in Mehtar Lam, Afghanistan. Forty journalists, including eight women, attended the two-day professional development course, which featured classes taught by Mahtab Farid, a native of Santa Monica, Calif., and a U.S. State Department public diplomacy officer, and military journalists from Task Force Ironman a part of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, Task Force Red Bulls. The event culminated with Auhe’s press conference, who talked about a new tree-planting project in Laghman Province sponsored by the Kansas ADT.
