Afghan Security Guard commander Wali Khan presents

Afghan Security Guard commander Wali Khan presents the Afghan flag to Sayed Kaml, the older brother of Guardsmen Alam Baik, who died April 15 when insurgents attacked Forward Operating Base Finley Shields. The flag was flown for 24 hours over the FOB in honor of Baik’s memory and presented to his family during a ceremony April 26. During the attack, insurgents detonated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device near the tower where Baik was performing his guard duties. Although he was injured from the initial blast, he continued to fight against the enemy until he perished.
