Air show patrons gaze at the sky as the MiG-17F executes an aerial performance at the 2016 MCAS Cherry Point Air Show – “Celebrating 75 Years” at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., April 29, 2016. The MiG-17 is a Vietnam War era plane who was the primary enemy aircraft engaged in the skies over Vietnam by U.S. aircraft.This year’s air show celebrated MCAS Cherry Point and 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing’s 75th anniversaries and featured 40 static displays, 17 aerial performers and a concert.
