ALYTUS, Lithuania – A Soldier from 3rd Combined Arms Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, gets his card punched at a check point by a Lithuanian Soldier Sept. 16. The Soldier was participating in a 40-kilometer march through the Lithuanian country side Sept. 16 to celebrate the Flag Day of the Grand Duchess Birute; the namesake of their Lithuanian Armed Forces counterparts. At each check point the participants got their card punched to prove they had completed that portion of the march. 3-69 AR has spent the last several months training in Lithuania in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a U.S. led effort being conducted in Eastern Europe to demonstrate U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region.
