Summary
An Afghan National Army medic applies a tourniquet to U.S. Army Spc. Kara Artrip, a finance specialist with the 384th Military Police Battalion, for her simulated wounded arm during a mass casualty training exercise, Nov. 2, 2012. U.S. medics and trainers simulated an improvised explosive device attack on an ANA convoy, which resulted in eight caused with different injuries for the ANA medics to treat. The medics started by responding to the incident and performing field care, then loaded their patients into ambulances to be taken to the troop medical clinic for full triage and treatment.
