Summary

An Afghan soldier with the 3rd Kandak, 2nd Mobile Strike Force Brigade works to boresight a heavy machine gun during a train-the-trainer class taught by Marine advisors with Task Force Southwest at Camp Shorabak, Afghanistan, Feb. 19, 2018. The four-week class teaches the combined use of heavy machine guns, turret operations, electronic counter measures, and land navigation GPS operations. Participating soldiers were hand-selected by Maj. Hassan Zai, commanding officer of 3rd Kandak, 2nd Mobile Strike Force Brigade. Upon graduation, the soldiers will be certified to train their fellow soldiers to increase the effective use of mounted heavy machine guns against the enemy. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Staff Sgt.
