Anthropologist Dr. Penny Minturn and U.S. Army Staff
Summary
Anthropologist Dr. Penny Minturn and U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Keeon Britton scrape the floor of a unit during a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency mission. Minturn was assigned as the on-site recovery leader and Britton was assigned as a recovery noncommissioned officer to a 17-member specialized recovery team that spent more than 45 days searching for the remains of servicemembers who paid the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency conducts global search, recovery and laboratory operations to identify unaccounted-for Americans from past conflicts in order to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
