Barney Schulte, a structural engineer in the U.S. Army
Summary
Barney Schulte, a structural engineer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, poses by the Puente de Orbigo, a medieval 13th century bridge, which is over the Rio Orbigo in Hospital de Orbigo, Spain. One of the longest medieval bridges in Spain, it was built over an earlier Roman bridge. The jousting area next to the bridge is the site of a famous tournament that took place there in 1434. Schulte visited this landmark during his 490-mile pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago, an ancient path that Christians retrace for spiritual renewal. (Courtesy Photo)
