Summary
Brig. Gen. John R. McMahon, commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, and Maj. Gen. William T. Grisoli, deputy commanding general for civil and emergency operations, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, talk with Joplin fire chiefs at Fire Station 2, which was destroyed May 22 when an EF-5 tornado tore through the city. The Corps set up a Recovery Field Office in here to assist with FEMA missions tasked to the Corps. The RFO has been tasked and is currently completing three missions for FEMA: critical public infrastructure (fire stations and schools), debris removal and temporary housing. Grisoli is responsible for emergency response missions for civil disasters and FEMA support.
