Bruce Robie, 225th Support Squadron National Airspace System Defense program manager, stands at the end of the Third Burroughs Trail in Mount Rainier National Park, Washington, after running the 17-mile trail in four hours, Aug. 31, 2018, in preparation for the POW/MIA Remembrance Run on Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The trail ends at an altitude of 7,813 feet and consists of a gain and loss of 4,880-feet of elevation. Extreme athletics is not new to Robie who summited Mount Rainier in 2016 with a climbing team. The objects in this collection are from The U.S. National Archives and Defense Visual Information Distribution Service. The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt.
