Capt. Jacob Thoman, left, and Capt. Matthew Eddy, 71st Rescue Squadron pilots, fly to Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. during in-flight patient care training during exercise FT 19-04, April 18, 2019. The training involved performing a medical evacuation and recovering simulated-wounded personnel from Maxwell, followed by doing in-flight patient care for multiple categories of wounds. The exercise focused on high operations tempo and the ability to survive and operate in a chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear environment to meet Chief of Staff of the Air Force and the Commander of Air Combat Command’s intent for readiness.
