Summary
Capt. James G. Meyer, commodore of the 30th Naval Construction Regiment, addresses a crowd during a relief in place and transfer of authority of Camp Covington assets from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 1 to NMCB 133 during a ceremony in Guam Feb. 16, 2016. NMCB 133 provides expeditionary construction and engineering (combat service support) to include horizontal and vertical construction; maintenance and operation of expeditionary bases and facilities; tactical sustainment bridging, Humanitarian Assistance (HA) through Construction Civic Action Details (CCAD) and Civic Action Teams (CAT) and theater disaster response capabilities. NMCB 133 is assigned to Commander, Task Force (CTF) 75, the primary expeditionary task force responsible for the planning and execution of coastal riverine operations, explosive ordnance disposal, diving engineering and construction and underwater construction in the U.S. 7th fleet area of responsibility.
