Chief Petty Officer Fred C. Turner, left, presents
Summary
Chief Petty Officer Fred C. Turner, left, presents Master Chief Petty Officer Daniel Irwin, right, with an award recognizing the Commander Fleet Activities Okinawa as one of the two units that raised the most money for last year’s Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Active Duty Fund Drive March 16 at the Camp Foster Community Center. The NMCRS provides financial relief to active duty and retired Marines and sailors as well as their eligible surviving family members through interest-free loans and grants. A large portion of those loans and grants are raised through the ADFD, which gives active duty military a chance to donate and help their fellow service members in need. Turner is the co-coordinator for the Okinawa NMCRS ADFD, and Irwin is the command master chief for Commander Fleet Activities Okinawa. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Lena Wakayama/Released)
