Summary

Col. David Jordan, commander of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine, receives a report from Ukrainian Col. Volodymyr Yadanov, commander of the Lithuanian, Polish, Ukrainian Brigade, during the opening ceremony marking the official beginning of Exercise Rapid Trident 2017 at the Yavoriv Combat Training Center on the International Peacekeeping and Security Center in Western Ukraine on Sept. 11. Jordan is the U.S. co-director of Exercise Rapid Trident 2017. Yadanov is serving as division commander during the exercise.
Approximately 1,800 service members from 14 different countries are participating in this year’s Exercise Rapid Trident. The exercise, which consists of a multinational, brigade-level, computer-assisted command post exercise, a battalion-level field training exercise and platoon-level situational training exercises, is designed to build interoperability between Ukraine and other NATO partners and allies.
