Col. Kyle J. Wilson, vice commander of the 509th Bomb Wing receives the new COVID-19 vaccine at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, Dec. 31, 2020. The Department of Defense began limited delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine to medical treatment facilities and other health care facilities for voluntary vaccination to mission essential personnel. Wilson received the vaccine as part of the Whiteman AFB COVID-19 vaccine distribution and administration plan, which implements a phased, standardized and coordinated strategy for prioritizing, distributing, and administering COVID-19 vaccines to installation personnel.
