Col. (retired) Danny McKnight speaks to soldiers with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division about “Gods plan for [him]” during a prayer luncheon held at Forward Operating Base Walton, Feb. 6. “I should not be standing here before you today,” he said. McKnight was the battalion commander of Task Force Ranger when they were deployed to Somalia in 1993 and whose unit is the basis for the movie “Black Hawk Down.” After retiring, McKnight decided to travel the globe and share his story with others to help them better understand the intricacies of leadership.
