Cpl. Joseph Apodaca, a radio operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, sets up a satellite for communication as part of the Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team during Amphibious Integration Training at White Beach Naval Facility, Okinawa, Japan, March 27, 2018. CLB-31, the Logistics Combat Element of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides combat support such as supplies, maintenance, and transportation. The HAST surveys areas that have been struck by natural disasters to determine how the 31st MEU can best lend its support. The 31st MEU and Amphibious Squadron 11 conduct AIT in preparation for Certification Exercise and to ensure readiness for crisis response throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
